Kristen

Kristen always knew she wanted to work with animals. As a kid, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian—but after a high school co-op showed her just how much Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) do, she found her true calling. She officially became an RVT in 2019, and hasn’t looked back since.

Kristen’s favorite part of the job? Building trust with animals and being a calming presence, especially when things are stressful or unfamiliar. She’s the one quietly sneaking in cuddles between treatments, making sure every pet feels just a little safer.

At home, Kristen has two very entertaining cats with completely opposite personalities:
- Lilith, her calm angel now—but formerly a wild kitten with a vengeance
- Saige, once the calmest kitten in the litter, now a mischievous mastermind who opens kitchen cabinets (yes, Kristen had to install baby locks) and loves to velcro herself to Kristen’s foot—always at the worst possible moment, like when she’s rushing out the door.

Despite their antics, both girls are full of love and end the day curled up on her chest.

Kristen enjoys the variety and spontaneity of mobile vet work, where every day is a little different and no two homes are the same.

Her advice to pet parents?
"They might only be in your life for a short time, but you are their whole world—cherish the little things. Even a new toy or quick outing can make their day."

Three words that describe Kristen?
Calm, caring, and quietly funny (especially once you get to know her).

She’s here to help pets feel safe, supported, and maybe sneak in a cuddle or two while she’s at it.
