Tanya

From the time she could walk, Tanya had a knack for finding (and fixing!) every injured critter in the neighborhood. By age 10, she was already volunteering at her family’s veterinary clinic, and by 17, she was officially on her way to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. Now, with 31 years of experience, she’s still just as dedicated to providing top-notch care to pets and the people who love them.

Over the years, she has had many roles in the field, including dental specialty care, practice management and curriculum development for Fanshawe College. She is also Fear Free Certified, making sure every pet she meets feels safe and comfortable. But at the heart of it all, her true passion is building trusting relationships with both clients and their furry companions. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is watching a pet grow from a tiny puppy or kitten into a beloved senior—being part of that journey is truly an honor.

Tanya loves working in a mobile clinic because it allows pets to receive care in the comfort of their own home, where they feel safe and stress-free. It’s all about making veterinary visits as easy and positive as possible! Plus, it means fewer cat rodeos when trying to coax a reluctant feline into a carrier!

At home, she shares her life with four beloved pets. Harper, a 10-year-old black Lab, is the epitome of a Lab—sweet, loving, and always looking for snacks. Gracie, a 3-year-old Shepherd/Bouvier/Great Pyrenees mix, looks like a Muppet and was a foster fail who stole her heart at first sight. Wee Willow Katherine, the 4-year-old guinea pig, may be the smallest of the pack but has the biggest personality. And then there’s Peaches, the 18-year-old cat who joined the crew last year and has officially turned the whole family into crazy cat lovers (mission accomplished).

3 Words That Describe Her (chosen by her daughters!) are kind, compassionate and encouraging.

Whether she’s at work, on the road, or at home surrounded by her furry family, Tanya is dedicated to making every pet’s life healthier, happier, and filled with love (and maybe just a few extra treats).
